Program Description
The
Construction Technology Program is a two-year associate degree program designed
to provide students with the technical knowledge and practical skills required
in the construction process. In this program, students gain both theoretical
and practical knowledge in subjects such as soil mechanics, structural statics,
construction materials, concrete technology, building construction,
architectural drawing interpretation, computer-aided design (CAD), and field
applications. Graduates are equipped with the necessary competencies to work as
technical staff in the construction sector.
Program Objectives
The
main objective of the Construction Technology Program is to train qualified
construction technicians who are proficient in modern technology, sensitive to
environmental and ethical values, and capable of meeting the demands of the
rapidly developing construction sector. The program aims for students to
graduate as competent professionals in areas such as site management, quality
control, occupational safety, material knowledge, and project monitoring.
Employment Opportunities
Graduates
of the Construction Technology Program have a wide range of career
opportunities. They can work in the following sectors and institutions:
- Public institutions and organizations
(provincial administrations, municipalities, the Ministry of Environment,
Urbanization and Climate Change, etc.)
- Private construction companies (site management support teams, technical
offices)
- Architectural and engineering offices
- Building inspection companies
- Surveying and cadastral services
- Field applications and supervisory services in infrastructure and
superstructure projects.
Graduates
may work as technicians in the construction sector or utilize their
entrepreneurial skills to create their own business opportunities.
Vertical Transfer Opportunities
Students
who successfully complete the Construction Technology Program can transfer to
the following bachelor’s degree programs through the Vertical Transfer Exam
(DGS):
- Civil Engineering
- Architecture
This
enables students to continue their academic careers and take on more advanced
roles in the fields of engineering and architecture.
Technical Infrastructure and Laboratory Facilities
In addition to theoretical education, the
program offers a strong practical training infrastructure. Available technical
facilities include:
- Laboratories for concrete, construction
materials, and soil testing
- Computer-aided design (AutoCAD, etc.) laboratories
- On-site training opportunities for construction field applications
- Topographic surveying equipment and application areas (levels, total
stations, etc.)
- Construction model and modeling workshops
Thanks
to these technical facilities, students are well-prepared for the sector before
graduation.
